Privacy
Awzan stores your workout data on your device. If you choose to, you can create an account to keep a private cloud backup — that's optional, and off until you turn it on. Either way: nothing is ever sold or shared, and there are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking.
What lives on your device
The following lives in Awzan's local storage on your iPhone, inside the app's sandboxed file area that iOS guarantees no other app can read. This is the app's source of truth, account or not:
- Workout sessions — exercises, sets, reps, weights, durations, notes
- Saved workout templates and custom splits
- Body weight log entries
- App preferences — units, language, notification times, theme settings
Without an account, this data is never transmitted, copied, or made accessible to anyone other than you, and deleting Awzan from your phone deletes all of it.
If you create an account — optional
You can sign in (with Apple, or with an email code) to keep a cloud backup of your training that syncs between your devices. If you do, two things are stored on our behalf by Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt):
- Your sign-in email address — or, with Sign in with Apple's hidden-email option, the private relay address Apple generates for you
- A copy of the training data listed above
This exists for exactly one purpose: so your training survives a lost, broken, or new phone. It is protected by row-level security — each account can only ever read its own rows — and is never sold, shared, analysed, or used for anything else. Your email is used solely to send sign-in codes; there is no marketing email, ever.
Signing out stops syncing and touches nothing. Deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account) permanently removes the account and every cloud record, immediately; the data on your device stays yours.
What leaves your device
Signed out, Awzan makes one network request: a check for app updates. When you open the app, it asks awzan.app for the latest available version. The request contains no information about you or your training — it asks only for a small public file listing the current version number.
Signed in, the app additionally syncs your training data with your account's private cloud space as described above — when you make changes and when the app opens. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is sent at all while signed out.
As with any web request, our hosting provider's standard server logs record the request's IP address, timestamp, and user-agent string. These logs are retained briefly and used only to monitor abuse of the hosting service. We do not access or analyse them.
You can prevent this check entirely by turning off network access for Awzan in iOS Settings → Awzan → Allow Cellular Data / Local Network.
Purchases & subscriptions
Awzan offers an optional subscription, Awzan Pro, purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple: we never see, receive, or store your payment details, billing address, or any financial information. Your subscription status is verified on your device through Apple's StoreKit framework — no purchase information is sent to us or to any server we operate, and your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not to any Awzan account.
Subscribing changes nothing about how your training data is handled. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your iOS subscription settings.
Permissions
Awzan asks for at most two permissions, and works without either:
- Notifications — used solely for reminders you schedule yourself: workout reminders and weigh-in reminders. All notifications are local — generated by the app on your device, never delivered from a server.
- Health workout sessions — asked only if you use the Apple Watch companion. Starting a workout runs an Apple Health workout session on the watch; that is what keeps the watch app awake on your wrist while you train, and it is all the permission is used for. Awzan never reads anything from Health and never saves anything to it — no workouts, no heart rate, nothing appears in your Health app.
You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Third parties
Awzan integrates no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no marketing pixels, no third-party data SDKs. The parties involved in your use of Awzan are:
- Apple — handles your App Store download and may collect standard install and crash metrics per their own policies; this applies to every iOS app and is outside our control.
- Supabase — only if you create an account: hosts the account and cloud backup described above, in the EU.
- Resend — only if you sign in by email: delivers the sign-in code email. It processes your email address for that delivery and nothing more.
Children
Awzan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only personal information Awzan can hold at all is what an optional account stores — an email address and training data. If you believe a child has created an account and you have questions, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your data, your control
At any time, from Settings inside the app:
- Export — download a complete JSON backup of all your data
- Import — restore from a previously exported backup
- Reset — delete all data on the device and return the app to its default state (your cloud copy, if you have one, is kept)
- Delete Account — permanently delete your account and its entire cloud copy
Uninstalling Awzan from iOS removes every byte of stored data from your device. If you have an account, signing back in on any device restores your cloud copy.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we'll update the date above and announce the change inside the app on next open. Changes take effect from the date stated; nothing applies retroactively.
